This is a short and fun guided walking tour of downtown Reykjavik. A super friendly and personal guide who will give you insight into the history of the LGBTQ community in Iceland, it’s cultural aspects, battles and wins. Learn how the fight for equality and human rights has shaped modern day Iceland and the queer community.
Visit some of Reykjavik’s main highlights and most important landmarks, with a little sprinkle of rainbow glitter to honour Reykjavik Pride. This tour is the perfect introduction to our colourful city!
The Icelandic queer history does not happen in a vacuum and your guide will introduce you to some very important Icelanders who have made an impact in the fight for LGBTQ rights throughout history. Their contribution will give you valuable insight into Iceland’s history as well. You will learn about the financial crash, the economic crisis, military occupation, and the alcohol ban – all of which are intertwined with the queer history!
This is an exclusive small group experience with a maximum of 15 people in each group. This means your experience will be more personal and pleasurable and you will have plenty of time to quench your thirst for knowledge and history. Your guide welcomes every and all questions you may have!

Meeting point: The What’s On Tourist Information Center on Laugavegur 5. Please be there no later than 10 minutes before your departure time.
Prices & availability: The price is ISK 4.500 per person. The tour is available on selected dates (view booking window) and also upon request.
Min: No minimum
Max: Small groups with the maximum number of 15 participants
Age limit: No age limit but children under 6 years old might find this tour a little long to walk so make arrangements (stroller etc), or be prepared to carry them for part of the way.
Bring with you: Dress according to weather. In Iceland, it is always wise to dress in warm, waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden so expect the unexpected. Bring a waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves. Good outdoor shoes are recommended.
